Hi there, I’m Brandie. I’ve had a blog since 2007, so that’s roughly around the time Noah sailed the arc in internet time. I’ve had a scant handful of blogs and online businesses. This last year, my life had a dramatic turn that was so unexpected it took my breath away.
In February 2015, I was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer. It came out of nowhere, like a craggy meteor slamming through my backdoor. My family and I were devastated, and in a state of breathless disbelief. Since that time, life has been a whirlwind of scans, treatments and hospital visits. But I’m still me. And I’m still here. We are still here. Together.
I have repurposed this blog to talk about my experiences, share what I have learned, and my (somewhat snarky at times) thoughts about all of it. You see, I like to help people and share what I know. The last year has reminded me I still want to do that. I still have things to say and do. I still want to laugh and spend time with friends. I’ve learned that every moment is precious, and if that helps one person, then I have done my job.
My journey isn’t perfect, and I’m not an expert. I’m just sharing my experiences in this space, and how I am singing through tears and learning to lay down swords. You can read the latest articles here, find resources here, or search for something at the top of any page on this site. I hope you or someone you know finds this all helpful.
Like something you see or have a question? Leave a comment at the bottom of any article, or contact me here. I love to interact with readers and answer questions. We’re all in this together.
Thanks for joining me in this space. It’s an honor to have you here.
